the music was really pumping!

I'd be loading up on pin pin and baskets!...looks wonderful ...i have been posting pics of Mexican markets...they are so colorful and authentic...sure beats the walmart experience...love the pics...still snow piles here so a little heat looks good to me......

Lori Ann - this market looks particularly vibrant and a bit like a souk inside - i think you could get lost in there without a guide!
e - yes the sunlight just makes it look so much more attractive. If you like loud music you would love this one!

We have markets too, but the noise level of the colours is nothing compared to yours.
Wonderful pictures, I can almost smell the heat and the aroma of the fruit and spices.
i can just feel the warmth and the atmosphere the way you describe it.

Hi Val! great photos.. it is amazing how colourful and enterprising all these stalls can be. Just love the piri piri vendors - particularly the signs!!

lgsquirrel - yes mozambique is pretty calm and friendly overall. Early explorers called it 'land of the good people' or Terra de Boa Gente (sp?)

What exactly is piri-piri? These colours and scenes and noises (yes, I can hear them!) almost make me drunk. Fabulous, Val, and so so SO different from our orderly German fruit markets. Must take photos from here!

Dear Geli - piri piri is hot sauce made from those small really hot chillies - also called Donna Anna in mozambique; its famous
Midlife Jobhunter - those baskets are great and very well made. I have some and use them all the time
