They look like beautiful paintings! To think they are real, idling around at your gate, I`m not sure I`d like that (quick glance to my garden gate - sigh, no). You sure have sights to show us! That complete darkness (except for the moon) you never find around our always lighted cities. I love it. I can even hear the sounds!
monkeys on the roof and lions in the drive - and I thought life was interesting with just housecats! It must be awesome to have such magnificent animals right in front of you.
you guys are the best! thanks for still visiting even tho i havent written much of late. Those lions were an amazing homecoming - always humbling to be around.
Delwyn - yes they would, but we just followed them at their pace down the track
Bonnie - so far the cushion craze seems to be over :-)
Geli - yes we are so lucky with no light pollution and fabulous stars at night x
Susan - they move within the reserve, and spend time around our area about every ten days or so. They dont really scavenge - apart from cushions that is..
Wonderful homecoming! We had two felines to get back to when we came back from our trip – one is golden like the lion, his name is Cody (rescued from the animal shelter a few years ago) and the other is Mitsou, a grey a Korat cat with emerald eyes (originally from Thailand) but nothing like your felines. Thanks for commenting on my blog.

Goodness me! Now that's a different welcoming committee and one to wake you up a bit after a tiring journey!
Where I live (on Vancouver Island) we are often greeted by deer -- I don't know that I could get used to welcoming committees like yours!
Hi Val
like the stone lions that are placed at the gates your lions patrol your patch. Did they let you through willingly?
Happy days
Isn't it wonderful when the children come and meet you at the gate?!!
Hope they didn't demolish the patio cushions while you were gone.
:-)

Wow! Now that is my kind of welcome! To be greeted by my favorite wild animal! I would love to live in your world.

I'd rather not be greeted by lions on my way home. Do they leave you alone?

My, my. What a greeting. I can't imagine.

Writer Lady - haha well yes - they sometimes look like they want to jump in the back of the vehicle, but so far not
Ah... how gorgeous! One can never get past the wonder of these lions.. The last pic is my favourite!!
Wow. Full moons and lions. What an unbelievable life you live, Val. Thank you again and again for sharing it with us. Wow.
