A friend sent me this photograph from some distant time in history When We Were Very Young. I am the one holding the monkey - proving that my association with monkeys has deep roots. A moment in time, captured with a click and brought forward into the now as if through a worm hole. It was May Day in Knutsford and there was a parade passing by, but the monkey stole the show.

You look very confident with that monkey! See, your life was already planned for you, with monkeys on the roof and all. Funny how such pictures can bring back forgotten memories, and a new meaning to them! Great photo, you were such a sweetheart!
Hi Val
You really look as if you want that monkey for yourself...it is a lovely find...
Happy days
You do look very confident with that monkey. Isn't it interesting how at a young age, one little animal can be special to us. Perhaps, that is why I have this facination with lions. I read the books of Joy Adamson when I was a kid and ever since I have loved Lions.
Smiles.
do you remember that day? predetermined destiny? We ARE all in charge of our own destiny......
I think it is the monkey uttering the title! :-)
A prophetic pic!
ahh how darling you are cuddling that little monkey. i love those pictures that we come across all these years later. i don't know knutsford, is it in africa? and who are your mates? do you still keep in touch? so cute!
I love the photo! I so wanted a monkey when I was small until my uncle got one. My gosh they certianly like attention. Funny how these themes in our lives present themselves.

Lori - knutsford is in england - our friends lived there; Helen is far left - my sister far right

You wouldn't get a ,or a parade for that matter in Knutsford now! Just Range Rovers and women who lunch as far as I can tell!
But it does have THE best charity shops in England
xx

FB -wow, amazing...well this was a long time ago. Our two friends on the left lived there. We lost Karen - the eldest - far too soon :-(
