Oh my goodness! Soooo close to the King! He looks incredibly regal sitting on the raodway. However I admit, it was disconcerting to see him just outside your window. Hope he was a friendly neighbour.
How utterly fantastic. You are so priviledged, although it may not feel like that when he's quite so close to your window! Wonderful pics, especially him yawning. xx
Miranda - oof thanks for that - needed it. caught up to speed today. eish x
janet - yes - awesome :-)
Geli - he's magnificent hey? and not really worried by us. probably been watching us for ages, but still...
Bonnie - usually its ok although they couldnt go off wandering into the reserve alone of course. just at the moment, the lions are verymuch in this area so probably not. we dont have kids though
Lyn - yup he;s friendly! but in a lion kind of way. we prefer to keep a little distance
Fire Byrd - that feeling of wonder never goes away - really.
Rob - he surely is!
thanks dear friends for your comments - always much appreciated xxx blog on and enjoy xxV
What a handsome fellow! On our visit to Kruger during September we saw a number of lions. We didn't get any shots like these, most of ours are lazy sleeping lion shots! Thanks for sharing.

great pics. Wow, he's beautiful. Now back to work you slacker!
Sometimes it's just so tough to be the king of the bush!
fab Monday morning sighting from your office window
:-)
Were you really that close??? I would not want to make him angry by talking too loud. Look what happened to that antelope! But oh, is he wonderful!
Val! Your neighbours are so regal and imposing! Can you let children play outside by themselves with all the incredible wildlife so close by?

Beautiful photos Val.
Good morning, indeed!
Crikey, it's certainly bigger than our cat Scabby!
OMG! What a perfect sequence. If you added a cup of coffee, it would be more like the morning routines of many of us than not!
oh.my.god. He's really really close.
