stranger in the night

This guy spent yesterday snoozing on the back of my chair.  He woke up at night and came to join us at the table. It felt like he was listening to our conversation. Was he. We stared deeply at each other for a while then he took off landing on my head. Say a prayer for us all buddy, OK?

What a smart visitor! And how clever of you to take a picture! I always wonder what they`d have to say if we could communicate.
He clearly liked you.

Exchanging glances
wondering in the night
what were the chances...

Perhaps we should say a prayer for him, as when he meets a lady friend...Of course, that's not always true, but is always a possibility.

Hi Val - Seems like he was as intrigued by you, as you were by him!

Some consider the praying mantis to be a lucky omen. We have a few in the field.

we had something similar over the summer. He was there in the kitchen when we eating dinner. Then we turned the kitchen lights out and moved into the family room, he moved with us. When we turned all the downstairs lights out and went upstairs to sleep - he started chirping really loudly. I guess he was missing us. I am not sure if it was a praying mantis, but it was big and green :)

Great picture btw.

Oh a praying mantis! My favourite! We almost always have one somewhere in our house. This week I had one on the burglar bars of the window where I write. Love your photo. I also believe they're lucky. I even wrote a story about one trying to bring my protaganist a message she refused to accept.

Look at those eyes. You can see deep into it's soul! What did you see when you gazed into each other?

Though kind of scary looking to an American wimp such as myself, I do believe that encountering one of these dudes brings good luck. I think they do have some kind of link to the divine.

Am I crazy??
